Rotman MBAS Win International Private Equity Competition.Toronto – For the second week in a row a team of Full Time MBA students from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management have won a prestigious international competition.

On Saturday, the Rotman students won the Rotterdam School of Management Private Equity Competition in Amsterdam defeating teams from INSEAD, IESE and Georgetown University in the final round. This year, the case involved candidates in a live transaction, centered around a 91-year old Dutch retailer, HEMA, where the private equity sponsor is looking for strategic exit options.

The team consisting of Deepak Kurian, MBA’18, Rasib Bhanji, MBA’18, Ali Jafri, MBA’18, Khang Ta, MBA’18, and Nero Porlas, MBA’18 took home the first prize. They are all members of the Rotman Asset Management Association.

The annual RSM Private Equity Competition aims to give students from top global universities the opportunity to experience what working in Private Equity looks like and to network with established professionals in the industry.
