Working in Canada
3-Year Canadian Work Permit
All international graduates of the Full-Time MBA program are eligible for a 3-year Canadian work permit, a major advantage not offered by other international and one-year MBA programs. If you come to Canada with your family, your partner can also work while you study.
Once you complete your MBA, you'll be eligible for a Canadian work permit, even if you don't have employer sponsorship or a job offer. This is a major advantage Canadian business schools have over US and other international business schools.
Graduates of the Rotman Full-Time MBA program are eligible for a three-year work permit. This is an advantage over one-year Canadian MBA programs, from which graduates are only eligible for a one-year work permit.
For more details, please visit the Government of Canada's website on work permits for students. Scroll down to see a chart explaining the length of studies and the length of the work permit.
“As Canada’s leading business school, Rotman is well-recognized by all the big firms in North America. Who doesn’t want to have a degree from a world famous school?”
Spousal work permits
Are you married or do you have a common-law partner? Your partner can also get a work permit while you are in school. Your study permit will sponsor your partner for work in Canada, and once you graduate, he or she can extend the work permit. No job offer is required.
