The Rotman MMA
When developing our program we consulted with analytic professionals in industry who identified the need for graduates who excel at the technical aspects required AND who possess business acumen. We have structured our program to produce such graduates: student become skilled in using analytical tools and techniques (Fall term) and then learn to apply this knowledge to managerial situations (Spring term).
The capstone project running throughout the program utilizes both skill-sets and applies them to a real-world business situation.
Who should consider the Program?
The program is aimed at those who:
- are passionate about learning more about data and analytics
- have a strong quantitative background and little/no work experience looking to uses analytics to improve business decisions
- wish to develop their understanding of business strategy and objectives
- would like to improve their communication and interactional skills to be able work with technical and non-technical colleagues alike
The Master in Management Analytics is a nine-month program which runs from August to April. The program is structured so that you initially focus on the tools and techniques before moving on to application of analytics to management situations.

As analytics matures as a profession, gaining professional certification is becoming increasingly more important. While obtaining professional certification is not a program requirement, the students will be supported and encouraged to write professional certification exams for organizations such as SAS and INFORMS.
What We're Looking For
Undergraduate Degree: Four-year degree in a relevant degree such as, but not limited to, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, Economics or Commerce. Minimum B average required across courses in the final year but most students admitted will have a considerably higher GPA
Quantitative Proficiency: Evidence of a high level of proficiency (a GPA of at least 3.0) in quantitative subjects such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics or Econometrics is required.
Computational Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in computer programming. This may be demonstrated through a minimum B average in one or more courses in Computer Science or in courses relying extensively on computer programming.
Two Academic References: Two recommendation forms must be completed online by your referees
